OGDEN, UTAH · COMMERCIAL SEWER
Washington Blvd.
Commercial sewer bore.
Overnight precision. Minimal disruption.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Below the surface.
A commercial developer needed a new sewer lateral beneath one of Ogden’s busiest roadways. Open-cut excavation wasn’t a practical option: the project required maintaining traffic, minimizing disruption, and completing the installation within a single overnight work window.

THE CHALLENGE
An active roadway.
A limited work window.
The crossing had to be completed beneath Washington Blvd. while limiting impacts to surrounding businesses and traffic. The team selected a compact pit-launched drilling approach to avoid a continuous trench across the roadway.
OUR SCOPE
Pilot bore to pipe pull.
Chamba Trenchless used its compact pit-launched horizontal directional drilling system to complete the entire bore in one night.
- Installed the pilot bore beneath Washington Blvd.
- Backreamed to the required diameter
- Pulled the HDPE sewer pipe into place
- Delivered a properly sloped sewer lateral ready for final connection
THE RESULT
One overnight closure.
Less disruption above ground.
Working overnight allowed the roadway to reopen with minimal impact to surrounding businesses and traffic, while avoiding the time and cost of traditional trenching.
- Commercial sewer lateral installed using pit-launched HDD
- Bore completed during a single overnight closure
- Trench-free installation beneath an active roadway
- Minimal impact to traffic and nearby businesses
